Cómo hacer Brinda cuidado perineal (femenino)

Perineal care for a female resident is really one continuous infection-control motion: always clean from front (urethra) to back (rectum), and always with a clean surface. Get the direction right and keep the resident covered for dignity, and the rest of the skill follows naturally.

Paso a paso

  1. 1

Knock, wash your hands, identify the resident, explain the procedure, and provide privacy.

  2. 2

Raise the bed to a safe working height and put on gloves.

  3. 3

Fill a basin with warm water and have the resident confirm the temperature is comfortable.Crítico

  4. 4

Position the resident on her back, place a waterproof pad under the buttocks, and expose the perineum only — drape the rest of the body.

  5. 5

Separate the labia. With a wet, soapy washcloth, wipe front to back (top to bottom): one side of the labia, then the other side, then down the center — using a clean part of the cloth for each stroke.Crítico

  6. 6

Rinse the same way, front to back, with a clean cloth section for each stroke, then pat dry front to back.

  7. 7

Turn the resident onto her side and clean the buttocks and rectal area LAST, always wiping away from the vagina, using a clean cloth section for each stroke; rinse and pat dry.Crítico

  8. 8

Remove the waterproof pad, take off and change your gloves, and wash your hands.

  9. 9

Reposition the resident comfortably, lower the bed, put the call light within reach, and record any redness or skin changes.

Pasos críticos (no los omitas)

  • Always wipe FRONT TO BACK (clean to dirty). Wiping back to front can carry rectal bacteria to the urethra and cause a UTI — this is the single most-tested rule.
  • Use a clean part of the washcloth for every stroke; never rewipe with a used surface.
  • Clean the rectal/anal area LAST, always wiping away from the vagina.
  • Check the water temperature (and have the resident confirm) before you begin, and change gloves + wash your hands afterward.

Errores comunes

  • Wiping back to front, or reusing the same soiled part of the cloth.
  • Cleaning the rectal area before the front.
  • Skipping the water-temperature check (scald risk).
  • Overexposing the resident instead of draping and exposing the perineum only.

Por qué importa

The urethra and vagina sit in front and the rectum — full of bacteria — sits behind. Wiping front to back, using a fresh cloth surface each time, and saving the rectal area for last all move bacteria away from the urinary opening. The whole skill is one 'clean toward dirty' motion to prevent a urinary tract infection.
