PassPrep — App Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2026-07-01 · Contact: ning.wang.see@gmail.com
1. Who we are
PassPrep (“we”, “us”) operates the PassPrep mobile app and the website passprep.tech. Contact: ning.wang.see@gmail.com.
2. What we do NOT collect
- No account, no sign-up, no login.
- No name, email address, phone number, or other contact information.
- No precise or approximate location.
- No photos, contacts, files, or microphone/camera access.
- No payment information (v1.0 has no in-app purchases).
3. Data stored on your device only (never sent to us)
The app saves the following locally so it remembers your place and preferences. This never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall:
- Your practice/quiz progress and mock-exam history.
- Your “wrong answers” review list.
- Your interface-language choice and daily-reminder time.
4. Data sent to our servers (passprep.tech)
The question bank is fetched online. To serve questions and grade answers, the app sends to passprep.tech:
- The exam/region and topic you are studying, and the option you selected when you answer a question (so the server can return whether it was correct and the explanation).
- A short-lived, anonymous session token (rate-limited by network address) that lets the app request answer grading. This token is not tied to any personal identity and is not used to profile or track you across other apps or websites.
We do not attach your name, account, or device advertising ID to these requests, and we do not store your answers on our servers — they are graded and the result is returned, nothing is retained per user. They are used only to deliver the study content you asked for.
5. Advertising (Google AdMob — non-personalized only)
The free version of PassPrep shows ads via Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). PassPrep requests non-personalized ads only: ads are based on general context (such as the app), not on a profile of you, and we do not use your advertising identifier to track you across other apps or websites. To serve non-personalized ads, Google may process general device information and ad interaction data (impressions, taps).
Google acts as an independent third party for advertising. Its handling of this data is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy and AdMob data disclosure. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads).
6. Notifications
If you turn on the optional daily study reminder, it is scheduled as a local notification on your device. No reminder data is sent to us or to any server.
7. Children
PassPrep is intended for a general audience preparing for adult licensing/citizenship exams. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Data retention & deletion
- On-device data (Section 3): removed when you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
- Server requests (Section 4): not linked to your identity; nothing is retained per user; session tokens are short-lived and expire automatically.
- Advertising data (Section 5): controlled by Google per its policy and your device ad settings.
- Because we hold no personal account data and store nothing about you on our servers, there is no account or personal data to delete. To remove everything the app keeps, uninstall the app or clear its storage.
9. Security
All network requests use encrypted transport (HTTPS/TLS).
10. Changes
We may update this policy; the effective date above will change and the new version will be posted at this URL.
