- •Hair care services (40%) and scientific concepts incl. infection control (35%) together are three-quarters of the exam — master decontamination levels, bloodborne-pathogen safety, and men's haircutting/tapering.
- •Barber-specific topics — shaving with the grain, the standard shave, sanitizing the straight razor, and pseudofolliculitis barbae (razor bumps) — are heavily tested. Know when to refer an infectious condition (sycosis barbae, tinea) instead of servicing it.
- •The real theory exam language varies by state. Use the Chinese/Spanish/Vietnamese/Korean explanations to learn, and learn the key English terms — several states (e.g. Florida, Pennsylvania, Arizona) give the written exam in English/Spanish only.

English is available everywhere. Several states also offer the WRITTEN theory exam in additional languages (confirmed from official sources below). Our Chinese, Spanish, Vietnamese & Korean explanations are a learning aid — where your state offers your language on the real exam, great; where it doesn't, learn the key English terms too.
