Apply through your state massage board
Most states require the MBLEx for licensure, and eligibility is set by your state board (education hours from an approved program, background check). Start with your state board's licensing page to confirm the current requirements.

Register and pay the FSMTB fee
Create an account and register for the MBLEx at fsmtb.org, paying the FSMTB exam fee. Check fsmtb.org for the current fee and the accommodations / retake policy.

Schedule at a Pearson VUE center
Once authorized, schedule the exam at a Pearson VUE test center. You get a pass/fail result with a scaled score; a score report is available afterward through your FSMTB account.
💡 시험 당일 팁
- •The real exam is in English and Spanish. If you test in English, use the Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean explanations to understand each concept, then lock in the English term the exam uses.
- •Client Assessment, Reassessment & Treatment Planning is the largest area (17%): SOAP notes, contraindication screening, and setting an appropriate treatment plan. Ethics/Boundaries/Laws (16%) and Pathology/Contraindications (14%) are close behind — master these three first.
- •Contraindications and areas of caution can harm a client if you get them wrong: know absolute contraindications (e.g. do not massage over an acute DVT / suspected blood clot), local cautions, and when to refer to a physician. A wrong safety answer is a wrong answer.
- •Budget your time: 100 questions in 110 minutes is a little over a minute each. There is no penalty structure that rewards skipping — answer every question.
- •The official MBLEx result is simply PASS or FAIL — candidates are not shown a score. Treat the 70% target and the practice score here purely as a study gauge, not an official passing percentage.
