Amazon Warehouse Associate (W-2) — On-the-job English

Study in your language — but on the job you'll speak English. These are the real phrases you actually say for this work, with a note in your language. Not a script; common situations workers report.

First day — clocking in and finding your area

  • Hi, it's my first day — where do I clock in?

Ask where to badge in on your first shift.

  • Which department am I working in today?

Ask which process path you're assigned to.

Understanding scanner and pick/stow instructions

  • Can you show me how to scan this item?

Ask a lead to demo the handheld scanner.

  • The screen says 'exception' — what should I do?

Ask what to do when the scanner flags an error.

Asking for help when you fall behind rate

  • I'm new and I'm a bit behind — can you help me catch up?

Ask your process assistant for help before a coaching.

  • 🔴 This bin is too heavy for me to lift safely — I need help.

🔴 Ask for help with a too-heavy load to avoid injury.

Reporting an injury to AMCARE / safety

  • I hurt my back lifting — I need to report an injury.

🔴 Report a work injury and ask for AMCARE / first aid.

  • I don't feel safe going back — I need to see AMCARE first.

Insist on being seen before returning to the floor.

  • Please call 911 if someone is unresponsive.

    🔴 Escalate a medical emergency — ask for 911.

Time off, UPT, and schedule questions

  • How much UPT do I have left this week?

Ask HR / the app about your unpaid-time balance.

  • I need to leave early — how do I use my time off?

Ask the right way to log leaving early.
