Cattle Crossing sign

Cattle Crossing Sign

MUTCD W11-4

Cattle or other livestock may be crossing or on the road ahead, often near farms or open range; slow down and be ready to stop.

What it looks like

A yellow diamond warning sign with a black side-view silhouette of a cow.

When you'll see it

On rural highways and open-range areas near farms and ranches where cattle or other livestock may wander onto or cross the road.

What to do

Slow down and be ready to stop; animals can be unpredictable, so give them room and never try to drive around a herd that is on the road.
