    Use NJ MVC online services (nj.gov/mvc) to schedule a knowledge-test appointment at an MVC agency.

    Bring all required documents

    Bring your 6 Points of ID, proof of Social Security number, and proof of New Jersey address. A vision screening is done on-site.

  • New Jersey uses a Graduated Driver License (GDL) program with a special learner permit, examination permit, and probationary license for new drivers.
