Yield to Pedestrians (In-Street) Sign

State law requires drivers to yield to pedestrians within the crosswalk.

What it looks like

A vertical white rectangle mounted in the roadway, with black legend and a pedestrian symbol stating that traffic must yield to people in the crosswalk.

When you'll see it

Stands within the roadway on the center line or lane line at a marked crosswalk, commonly near schools, parks, and busy pedestrian streets.

What to do

You must yield to any pedestrian within the crosswalk as required by state law, stopping if needed to let them cross safely.
