Yield Here to Pedestrians Sign

MUTCD R1-5L

Yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk at the marked location.

What it looks like

A white rectangle with black legend reading YIELD HERE TO PEDESTRIANS, paired with an arrow pointing down at the marked stop line.

When you'll see it

Placed just ahead of a marked crosswalk, often at mid-block crossings on multi-lane roads where a stop line shows where to yield.

What to do

You must yield to pedestrians in the crosswalk at the marked location, stopping behind the line so drivers in other lanes can also see the pedestrian.
